One of my favorite breakfast ideas is a bagel or toast with a strawberry spread. What I don’t like is how expensive those spreads have gotten in the store. That’s why I started making my own fresh strawberry butter instead of buying it and I have never looked back!

That high cost is a good reminder for me that making more at home and buying less is always a good idea. Making homemade strawberry butter spread is so simple that it just makes sense to make it at home.

It comes together in just a few minutes and I can just about guarantee that the entire family will love the flavor of this delicious spread!

What is Strawberry Butter?

Strawberry butter is a soft spread made with only three ingredients; fresh strawberries, softened butter and confectioners sugar.

If you would rather not use powdered sugar, you can make a strawberry honey butter and replace the sugar with a tablespoon or two of raw honey until you have the sweetness and spreading consistency you prefer.

How Do You Make Strawberry Butter Spread?

The really great part about this fruit butter recipe is is simplicity! It’s quite literally two steps! Prepare the butter and strawberries and all that is left is to whip it all together with an electric mixer!

Yes. Something this delicious really is this easy!

How to Use Strawberry Butter?

It’s fantastic to use as a spread on toast, toasted bagels, biscuits, pancakes, Belgian waffles, and even muffins! It’s even great on a pb&j sandwich. Basically any place that you use strawberry jam or jelly, you can replace with this!

How Long Does Strawberry Butter Last?

Because this recipe uses fresh strawberries, it will only last a few days before they start to go bad. Because of this, I never recommend making more than you need in the moment.

If stored in an airtight container such as a 4 oz. mason jar, it will last in the refrigerator for around a week.

Can Strawberry Butter Be Frozen?

If you want to make a larger batch or you need it to last longer than a week, strawberry butter can be frozen for later. Freeze in a freezer safe container or freezer bag. Eat it within 3-months.

To thaw, simply place it in the fridge. You may need to whip it back up once it’s thawed due to changes in the strawberries once they’re thawed.
